Filming the sun shine in Sunshine
Recently, we were given a fast turnaround brief, with information still coming in moments before the shoot. These kinds of shoots are exciting for us, as we love to flex our problem solving muscles and use our creativity to configure the best outcome for the images requested.
We understand not all shoots have weeks to prepare and sometimes milestones only happen last minute. For this shoot, we were working with approximately 4 hours to prepare, and a live feed of information coming in whilst the team was on location. This is a huge testament to our team and their ability to adapt and remain thinking on their feet at all times in order to capture the best product possible in alignment with the client's brief.
The brief was essentially to make Sunshine station shine, so our team was able to think quickly and decide to start at sunrise, allowing them to capture a beautiful golden glow complimenting the station, but also to play with capturing interesting shadows to create character in the area. The station is already bustling this time of day, so it was a real treat to see the friendly faces and include them in the story of this area.
Because so much of the brief was being delivered in real time, it meant the team could play around a bit with what might work for the client’s request, such as taking slightly more equipment than usual, just in case this turns out to be what would work best for them. As a result, our videographer was able to incorporate some special equipment, like longer lenses and work in a non-traditional technique operating the camera primarily handheld.
Here’s some of our favourite shots from this shoot. We love the opportunity to think outside the box and get creative in a time crunch. We’re super proud of how this footage turned out!
