The feeling of a neighbourhood

We recently were sent out for a ‘street’ photography style shoot with a broad brief to capture the feeling of multiple neighbourhoods across Melbourne, all in relation to the level crossing removals project and the positive impact they have had on community. A brief this open-ended, is a fun challenge for our team!

For pre-production, we sat down to brainstorm key ideas and landmarks in each area our client wanted us to tackle. From here, due to a fast turnaround delivery request, we plotted the best route to capture each suburb required and how much time they would need in each space. This meant our photographers could hit the ground running, and know how much time to allot for each area.

It’s always exciting organising a brief and subsequent photography shoot for our photographers to see how they interpret the instruction, to see how they pull it all together. To capture the feeling of these suburban Melbourne neighbourhoods, our team focused on local street art, signage and community specific shops and restaurants. Showing the vibrancy and uniqueness of each location was exactly what the client was after. It shows the positive impact the level crossing removal projects have had on the wider community and the value in keeping these communities flourishing.
