Snowy Hydro 2.0 - Photography
Tucked away in the mountains of Kosciuszko National Park in NSW is the Snowy Hydro 2.0 construction site. We are so excited to be on board as the imaging supplier for this huge project. Capturing visuals for Snowy has been such a thrill, it's an epic project with epic proportions, which is an incredibly inspiring backdrop to capture some very epic imagery indeed!
Driving through the mountains, you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere. How could there an enormous renewable energy project going on here? The sites feel hidden away, the mountains provide good cover. Fewer than 100 people will ever see some of the underground areas we get to visit. It's such a privilege to know that our team gets to be some of the chosen few.
In the underground, our extensive experience shooting many varying tunnels comes in handy. When underground, masks and site specific PPE, plus low light, forces you to rely on instinct to judge focus and appearance. Many years of experience in these challenging environments ensures our photographer J, has great instincts.
With such a stunning natural backdrop, feats of incredible engineering and a project that has such wonderful benefits for the transition to renewable energy it's a trip we are always happy to make. Here’s just a sample of some of the images we’ve made.
